Click here to add an ad   Your comments or history of Lightwater Click to see all the Lightwater comments recently hit by severe flooding the villagers all seemed to rally round and help, without anyone having to ask for help. in the 4 years that we have lived here we have found that the community spirit is wonderful, something that we have not experienced in larger towns etc.the village itself has a great friendly pub,the Red Lion, frequented by various business people, retired people, passers by and a few ex sportsmen, including ex Boxer Billy Walker.it also has 2 friendly social clubs, all 3 establishments are particularly child friendly.the leisure centre, country park and various walks are most enjoyable, it seems that wherever you go people smile and say hello !!! the local butchers, hardware store and cross section of other local retailers help you enjoy village life, places where you spend money make feel like a valued customer.the firework display is an excellent event and father christmas always visits the centre of the village to see the children.
